Intermediate Class

This intensive day will start by re-capping on aspect ratio, (a fundamental part of chain
making), and looking at different metals, and their properties, used in chain making today.

The morning will be spent covering the "European Weaves", 4in1, 4in1 round, and 4in1
inverted round. Following on from this you will learn the cousin of the Byzantine chain
"The Turkish Round maille".

After lunch, we will be looking at the Japanese chain mail techniques. A completely different
style which lends itself to the most intricate geometric shapes. Japanese mail also
benefits from using coated wires to introduce bold splashes of colour.

This one day course is approximately £45-50 depending upon the venue. Plus materials (see below)

For £25.00 Tania will provide enough copper, precision cut, rings and clasps to enable you
to learn all of the pieces covered in this course.

Additional kits in sterling silver and gold fill will be available for purchase on the day
